Hi, I’m Andrea Middleton, and I’m working with Aaron Hockley this year to organize WordCamp Portland 2011. Since I’m new to the Portland WordPress community, I thought I’d tell you a little about myself. 🙂
I’m a native Portlander and a graduate of PSU. I left Portland in 1995 to travel the world (Mexico City, St. Thomas USVI, and Austin TX) and am now super-excited to be moving my family to my beloved hometown in August. I also work for Automattic as the coordinator at WordCamp Central, which means I work with WordCamp organizers all over the world to make their events successful and stunning and happy.
We’ve recently posted a call for volunteers for WCPDX 2011; regardless of your level of involvement in the Portland WordPress community heretofore, I encourage you to get involved in organizing WordCamp Portland! We have need of your expertise, special talents, and enthusiasm. Please join Aaron, me and all the other people who have already reached out to help us create a superlative event. If you have any questions or suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out by emailing portland@wordcamp.org.
Awesome! So glad you’re around to help with Central and WCPDX! It was a pleasure meeting you and Jane at WordCamp Raleigh and I’m looking forward to getting to know you more. Let me know if there’s anything we can do to help (Volunteer, Speak, Sponsor, etc.)
Justin, thanks for the welcome. In answer to what you can do to help… all of the above? 😉
