One of the very best things about WordPress is its vibrant local and international community of developers, designers and bloggers. There are so many ways to be a part of it!<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Make sure you know <a href=\"https:\/\/2017.portland.wordcamp.org\/how-should-i-pack-for-wordcamp\">what to bring<\/a> &#8211; travelling lightly means less to keep track of.<\/li>\n<li>Challenge yourself to <strong>meet at least two new people per hour<\/strong> &#8211; around meals, in the sidebar areas between sessions, and the people sitting next to you. Make a point to sit next to someone new and to introduce yourself &#8212; as tempting as it may be to sit alone and check your mail.<\/li>\n<li>Read through the program in advance and look up any new terminology<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ask questions<\/strong>! \u00a0If you have a question about something, chances are good that others do too. \u00a0Or, if you have another solution to doing something, offer your ideas for discussion.<\/li>\n<li>Take a moment to <strong>recharge<\/strong> and refresh yourself, especially if you&#8217;re less of a &#8220;people person&#8221; than others &#8211; you might take a break or two to stretch or walk around outside.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ask for recommendations<\/strong> of ways to solve WordPress or business problems you&#8217;re experiencing. \u00a0It flatters people to be consulted for their expertise! \u00a0The Happiness Bar is a great place to start, and you might also find another attendee with just the specialty you want to know about.<\/li>\n<li>Consider <a href=\"https:\/\/2017.portland.wordcamp.org\/get-involved\/volunteer\"><strong>volunteering<\/strong><\/a> to get more of an inside view of what goes into a WordCamp &#8211; and\/or be sure to thank a volunteer!<\/li>\n<li>Did you find a talk especially valuable?
