On September 23, 2017 organizers, speakers, sponsors, attendees, and volunteers gathered for WordCamp Portland 2017. Each role is just as important as the other to make a WordCamp a success.
Organizers
Our organizers took time away from their families, friends, and work to volunteer their skills to plan and execute WordCamp Portland 2017. Thank you for contributing to the WordPress community by putting on this event.
Speakers
Our speakers bring their expertise and knowledge for us to learn from and apply in the real world in our jobs or businesses. They inspire us to learn more and to be a part of the WordPress community. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to spread the knowledge with all of us.
Our Host
Planning a WordCamp starts with the venue. We REALLY appreciate Lewis & Clark hosted this year’s WordCamp! Thank you for hosting our event on your beautiful campus.
Sponsors
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again our sponsors make it possible for a WordCamp to happen with their donations and support. You are the glue that makes it possible for organizers to plan and execute an event whether it’s big or small. All levels of sponsors are GREATLY appreciated.

Attendees
As an attendee you might not think your role is important but without you we wouldn’t have a WordCamp. We need attendees to participate by attending the talks, being engaged with the speakers asking questions, and most of all meeting up with new and old friends. You are important, and we thank you for attending WordCamp Portland 2017!
Volunteers
Last but certainly not least our volunteers were phenomenal! Each and every one of you volunteered your time and made sure your responsibility was taken care of. The roles you filled made our WordCamp run smoothly and we thank you for making sure we had a successful event including set up, registration, MCing, to picking up doughnuts, and clean up. You are AMAZING!
It Takes All of Us
As you can see every role is important to a successful WordCamp and we are thankful you participated in our WordCamp this year! We are all a part of the WordPress community doing our part.
Here’s to looking forward to next year’s WordCamp Portland! Are you in? How do you want to participate? Think about it and let us know.
Remember to look out for other WordCamps to participate in. The next local WordCamp is WordCamp Seattle and WordCamp US is just around the corner if you can travel to Nashville, TN!
Happy WordCamping!
Hopefully next year ticket sales will be announced in a better way so that people not checking the site every 10 minutes will have a chance to buy them as well?
